The Australian Beef Sustainability Framework (ABSF) is calling for expressions of interest for the position of chair of the steering group.
Current chair Mark Davie will end his term on November 30.
The ABSF is owned by peak industry bodies: Cattle Australia, the Australian Lot Feeders’ Association and the Australian Meat Industry Council.
It is overseen by an advisory board and Meat & Livestock Australia provides resources in support.
Mr Davie said he was proud of what the ABSF had achieved over the past three years.
“The steering group has played a vital role in progressing the Australian Beef Sustainability Framework, and we’ve seen key improvements over the past few years,” he said.
“This has included a refresh of our indicators, consistently seeking out better data, and the announcement of the beef industry sustainability goals. It’s a great time for a new chair to come on board, with the latest materiality assessment due for completion in early 2025.”
