Eliza Humphrey and Cooper Mollenhauer arrived in style aboard this 1960 International fire truck

A stream of glamorous graduates hit the red carpet on Thursday night at the Kingaroy State High School’s annual Year 12 formal.

There were glittering gowns, smart suits and even a touch of western style with big hats and bolo ties at the Kingaroy Town Hall.

The students and their partners arrived in the usual array of Mustangs, Chevs, Aussie Fords and Holdens … and even an Austin A40!

A 1960 International fire engine engine,  formerly part of the Kingaroy Fire Brigade, made the biggest entrance with its siren sounding.

Another arrival which turned heads was the Razor scooter … probably a South Burnett first!

However, the biggest round of applause was reserved for a farm dog, proudly mounted on the back of a ute, who barked on command as his master escorted his partner up the red carpet.

Footnote: Despite the heavy clouds building up earlier, the weather stayed calm, with Kingaroy thankfully missing out on its usual afternoon storm.

The fire engine, driven by Mark Beil, sounded its siren as it rolled up to the red carpet on Thursday night
Every ute needs a dog … this proud pup enjoyed a big round of applause as he barked to farewell his mates
