Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery is featuring works by four well-known art teachers – Bronwyn Langford Martoo, Tonita Penny, Marylaura Kato and Kahli Dawkings – in its November exhibition.

The display of works, dubbed “Visceral Existence”, includes paintings, mixed media pieces, installations and sculptures.

It was officially opened with a wine and cheese night at the gallery on November 1.

The artists have explained that life often throws up moments which can only be survived through “gut instinct”, ie, the viscera.

“We are a group of women moving through the world, living through major life challenges and exploring them through our artmaking practice,” they said.

The exhibition will remain on display until November 19.

Entry to the Kingaroy Art Gallery, opposite the peanut silos in Haly Street, is free.
