The Kingaroy Hospital Auxiliary has donated two Airvos 3 oxygen machines – worth a total of $15,000 – to Kingaroy Hospital to help adult patients with breathing difficulties.
“Ee purchased the machines following a generous donation of $1000 from the QCWA Kingaroy Branch, and through funds raised by our vending machine which was on site during construction of the new Kingaroy Hospital,” auxiliary treasurer David Morton said.
The auxiliary donated the machines after learning that new and more effective oxygen machines were now available for patients which would greatly benefit the local community.
One of the hospital’s registered nurses, Mandy, thanked the auxiliary for the oxygen machines.
“The new machines are easy to operate and will provide faster relief to patients requiring oxygen,” she said.
The auxiliary is currently fundraising for further medical equipment and would greatly appreciate donations to its Cash for Containers account (member number C11439263).
The local community can also help by buying a ticket at South Burnett markets in the auxiliary’s Christmas raffle.
The major prize is a 40 inch TV from sponsor Kingaroy Betta.
