Toowoomba Regional Council is calling for nominations from members of the community who are passionate about the arts to join the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) advisory committee.

RADF is delivered as a partnership between the State Government through Arts Queensland and local councils to promote the arts, culture and heritage in regional Queensland.

Cr Trevor Manteufel said RADF recognised the important role the arts play within the Toowoomba region.

“This valuable program allows council to invest and promote local arts and culture, which in turn fosters the vibrancy, creativity and inclusiveness of our whole community,” Cr Manteufel said.

“We are looking for interested members of the community with specific skills or experience in a range of cultural fields including music, dance, performing arts, visual arts and heritage, to be part of the RADF advisory committee.

“I would encourage anyone who thinks they may be eligible to have a look at the guidelines and reach out to us if they need anything clarified. Council is enthusiastic about our support for the region’s creatives as they bring such joy to so many within our community.”

The committee will run until the end of this current term of Council in 2028.

Expressions of interest must be received by 5:00pm on October 31, 2024.
