The National Farmers’ Federation has opened applications for its popular National Agriculture Leadership Program.

The program provides exclusive opportunities for emerging leaders in the agriculture sector, including mentoring and policy development.

NFF president David Jochinke said the program was targeted at people aged under 35.

“It’s an honour to encourage the next generation of leaders to follow their passion and grow their leadership potential,” Mr Jochinke said.

“By fostering a young person’s interest in advocacy, we’re helping to grow a diverse, informed and articulate agricultural leadership.

“The program immerses our participants in the policy and advocacy worlds; they’ll have the opportunity to tour Australian Parliament House and meet with Federal politicians and government departments, and be mentored by leading policy experts.”

He said the limited spots were always hotly contested.

“I encourage everyone with a passion for ag and an interest in leadership to apply,” Mr Jochinke said.

Applications close on November 14. More information is available online
