A 37-year-old Cinnibar man died and a 48-year-old woman was badly injured in a head-on crash at Silverleaf on Sunday morning.
Emergency services were called to Bicks Road just after 9:00am after reports a Nissan Navara dual cab ute and a Toyota Hilux trayback had collided on the single-lane road.
A police spokesperson said the driver of the Toyota died at the scene.
The injured women had to be cut free from the wreckage of the Nissan by fire crews
She was then airlifted to the Sunshine Coast University in a stable condition.
The roadway was blocked to all traffic for several hours while emergency crews were at the scene.
The Forensic Crash is investigating the incident.
Police have urged any witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam vision to contact police.
