The annual exhibition of works by members of the Jumping Ant Arts collective have taken over the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery for the month of October.

Antfest 2024, dubbed  “Unshackled”, features a wide range of pieces, from watercolours to linocuts and silk scarves to ceramics.

There are 12 artists taking part, including gallery stalwarts Fran and Paul Van Vegchel.

The artists and their friends gathered at the gallery on October 4 for opening night.

Several free art demonstrations have been scheduled to run in conjunction with the exhibition.

Acrylic and pastel artist Susan Devitt will be demonstrating her skills from 10:00am on Wednesday (October 16).

From 10:30am on the same day, Lee-Anne Pumpa will be explaining  her painting techniques.

On October 21, Fran van Vegchel and Carmel Nott will be showing how to make handmade books from 10:30am to 1:00pm.

The “Unshackled” exhibition is open until October 30 and entry is free.

Both Fran and Paul Van Vegchel have works on display in “Unshackled”, and Fran will be joining with Carmel Nott in a book-making demonstration
