A search and rescue operation continued on Tuesday in the Ficks Crossing area to locate a 27-year-old man who was reported missing on Saturday.

Jack McLennan was last seen at Ficks Crossing, just outside of Murgon, between 8:00pm and 10:00pm on Friday and has not been seen or heard from since.

Search efforts on Tuesday included police on foot, motorbikes, police divers, SES volunteers, drones and Queensland Remote Area Tracking personnel.

Jack is described as Caucasian, about 185cm tall with light brown hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt and dark shorts, leaving the Ficks Crossing area on foot.

A broad search was conducted on Monday at Ficks Crossing and surrounding areas.

Inspector Scott Stahlhut said the search and rescue area had been expanded on Tuesday to include the broader Murgon area.

“Police would like residents in the area of Ficks Crossing and surrounds to conduct a search of their properties for any signs of Jack,” Inspector Stahlhut said.

“We currently have a number of specialised units on the ground conducting a search of waterways, banks and land in the area.

“Anyone with any information regarding his whereabouts is urged to come forward.”
