South Burnett Football’s 2024 season is now wrapped up, with two Grand Finals played last Saturday at Wondai soccer fields.
In the Senior Women’s Grand Final, Barambah Women defeated Nanango Panthers in a penalty shootout after the teams were locked 1-all at full-time.
The game went into extra time but the teams could not be split, making the tense shootout a necessity.
Earlier in the day, the Black’s Electrical Kingaroy Redbacks defeated the Chinchilla Drop Bears 4-2 in the Under 14s Grand Final after leading 3-1 at half-time.
Unfortunately, the Senior Men’s Grand Final, which had been scheduled to be played the evening before under lights at Tom Alford Oval in Kingaroy, did not go ahead.
Barambah Men were forced to forfeit to Kingaroy Wests due to a shortage of players, giving Wests the premiership.
A week earlier, the Grand Final of the Under 13s competition was played at the Wondai soccer fields.
The Gardengrove Landscape Supplies Kingaroy Redbacks defeated the Chinchilla Lynx 1-0.
