Police have arrested a man in relation to a fatal hit-and-run at Kingaroy on Tuesday morning.
Emergency crews were called to First Avenue about 5:00am after a black Mercedes-Benz allegedly struck a 36-year-old Kingaroy man, before the vehicle left the scene.
The man was walking with another 27-year-old man when he was hit by the vehicle.
The 36-year-old died at the scene.
The 27-year-old man was taken to Kingaroy Hospital as a precaution.
Investigations led police to locate a Mercedes at an address on Boonenne-Ellesmere Road in Taabinga.
A 30-year-old man was taken into custody.
Investigations are ongoing.
Anyone with information that could assist investigations has been urged to contact police.
UPDATE 1: The alleged driver has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death, driving a motor vehicle without a driver’s licence and failing to remain at an incident and render assistance.
He is due to appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
UPDATE 2: Jade Cherry did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody. No pleas have been entered.

EARLIER: Police are hunting a vehicle involved in a serious hit-and-run in Kingaroy on Tuesday morning.
A man walking in First Avenue was struck by an unknown vehicle about 5:00am.
The vehicle did not stop.
A police spokesperson said family members of the man were still to be contacted, so more information was not yet available but the vehicle involved in the incident was unknown.
A QAS spokesperson said the critically injured man was taken to Kingaroy Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
A section of River Road has been closed near Logan Street to allow police investigations.
