Veteran ring announcer Keith McRobert – a familiar face and voice around the local show circuit – has been awarded a special honour at this year’s Ekka.
On Tuesday night, Mr McRobert was named the 2024 Ekka Legend by RNA president David Thomas at a reception at the Brisbane Showgrounds.
Mr McRobert has been linked with the Brisbane Exhibition for more than 70 years, either as an exhibitor, steward or announcer.
He also volunteered as one of the auctioneers at the annual Stewards Charity Auction, raising funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation.
The Ekka Legend award was introduced in 2004.
