Sunshine Coast Lightning netball players will be coming to Nanango on Friday to host netball clinics as part of a regional tour.

This is the second time the Lightning have visited Nanango during their end-of-season trip around the State.

The Lightning are one of the top teams in the Suncorp Super Netball national competition, making it through to the semi-finals this year.

“The Suncorp Regional Tours are always a big highlight for me,” Captain Steph Fretwell said.

“Lightning is the only regional team in the Suncorp Super Netball so we’re really passionate about promoting our sport in regional communities like ours.

“There’s so much talent out in the regions and it’s awesome to have the opportunity to connect with these kids and show them where netball could take them.”

The Lightning players who will be dropping in to Nanango are vice-captain Liz Watson, Cara Koenen and Mahalia Cassidy.

There will be two clinics: one for players aged 5-10, from 3:30-5.00pm; and one for players 11-17, from 5:00-6.30pm.

The clinics will be held at the Nanango & District Netball Association’s grounds in Appin Street West.

Cost to register is $30 per person.
