Health and beauty salon XFactor Aesthetics has taken out the top prize in this year’s Kingaroy BaconFest window competition.
The theme for the competition – organised by the Kingaroy Chamber of Commerce and Industry – was “It’s Bacon Country”.
Eighteen business and organisations took part.
XFactor Aesthetics, in Markwell Street, called their entry “Piggy In The Country”, and featured windows which were hand-painted by Emma Coupe.
Runner-up was employment support service, Yourtown Kingaroy, in Alford Street.
KCCI president Damien Martoo said the independent judges had a very difficult task ranking entries from both small businesses and large organisations.
“But they ultimately awarded the first prize to XFactor Aesthetics,” Damien said. “Their display featured a little pig touring through South Burnett Bacon Country, visiting local sights and capturing the festive spirit.”
Damien said Yourtown’s effort, crafted by participants and staff, included a playful touch with an inflatable pig suit.
Putting the displays together was a useful team-building exercise after-hours for some of the businesses which entered the competition.
“The effort put into the displays this year was truly commendable,” Damien said.
“If it were up to me, everyone would win.
“The competition provided a fun and engaging way for local businesses to celebrate BaconFest (August 16-18) while attracting attention to their stores.
“We encourage everyone to come and check out the amazing displays throughout the CBD and show your support for all local businesses.”
