South Burnett Saints’ men turned out in their Kingaroy Bulldogs colours for the annual Heritage Round on Saturday

South Burnett Saints marked their annual Heritage Day with a reunion of past players – and entertainment into the night – at Kingaroy’s Lyle Vidler Oval on Saturday.

Unfortunately, the joy was shared not out on the paddock, with all three Saints’ teams going down against their Toowoomba Tigers counterparts.

The men’s team had the most success, kicking four goals against the better-ranked Toowoomba side, including a hattrick by Jake Larsen.

It was also a milestone game for Saints’ veteran Brad Pressnell who racked up his 150th senior game for the club, the first player to reach this mark.

Bulldog Spirit winners were Keegan Wright (Ron Bird Medal) and Liz Porter (Kassulke Family Medal).

With the season starting to wind down, the Saints are planning their annual Awards Presentation night for both junior and senior players, which this year will be held at the Kingaroy Town Hall on October 11.

There are just three more round to go ahead of the semi-finals, with the Saints’ last home game on August 3 in Kingaroy.

This Saturday, all three grades will be travelling to Toowoomba to take on South Toowoomba Bombers teams.
