FLASHBACK: The red, white and blue strip of the old Kingaroy Bulldogs Football Club was on display again at last year’s Heritage Day at Lyle Vidler Oval

The South Burnett Saints’ will be in action at Lyle Vidler Oval on Saturday, their second last home game of the season.

The club’s annual Heritage Day honours the South Burnett’s AFL roots with senior men’s players donning the old Kingaroy Bulldogs strip.

Former Bulldogs and Kingaroy Jets players have been invited to return for the day.

All three Saints’ teams – men, women and U14s – will be taking to the field against Toowoomba Tigers’ sides.

Bulldog Spirit Medals will be awarded: the Ron Bird Medal (male player) and Kassulke Family Medal (female player).

Games start at 11:00am (under 14s), 12:45pm (women) and 2:30pm (men).

Live music by local band Mr Q will be happening from 5:00pm.

The day is also a fundraiser for the club’s project to build home and away change rooms at Lyle Vidler.

Saints are currently running a “Buy A Brick” fundraiser for the project, with donations of $100 and above to be recognised on an Honour / Recognition Board.

Two Saints’ teams travelled to Warwick for last Saturday’s Pride Round.

  • Under 14s – South Toowoomba Bombers 12.13-75 def. South Burnett Saints 2.3-15
  • Women – Saints Burnett Saints 8.7-55 def. South Toowoomba Bombers 0.1-1

The men’s team had a bye.
