The South Burnett PCYC hosted an Open Day at their facility in Murgon on Saturday to entice the local community to “get active”.

Visitors – including a bunch of children – were able to try their hands at many of the activities on offer, including pickleball, basketball and fitness equipment.

Gymnastics equipment was also popular, with children testing their skills on parallel bars and other gear under the watchful gaze of PCYC volunteers.

Local councillor Heath Sander was enlisted to try out the rowing machine, and won the challenge … “rowing” an amazing 296 metres in just one minute.

Cr Sander donated his prize money back to the club.

Kingaroy residents Amber Corrin, Kahlia Pidgeon, Charlee Benton and Tallula Johannessen, 11 weeks, were exploring what was on offer at the PCYC
Pippa Webb, 7, was just hanging around … she was working out with the help of PCYC volunteer Esther Downes
PCYC volunteer Kerry Garside was helping out Marnus Dorfling, from Goombungee, on the overhead bar
