South Burnett Regional Council has approved the construction of a new multi-million dollar shopping complex in Kingaroy.
The complex will be built on vacant land at 5-13 Rogers Drive, opposite the Mitre 10 and Harvey Norman buildings.
Plans include two buildings with three large retail display areas and an adjacent car park with spaces for 54 customer vehicles (including two disability parking bays) plus 16 staff parking areas.
However, work cannot begin until separate permits for building, plumbing, and drainage works have been obtained and the five lots covered by the project are merged into a single lot.
The centre will be allowed to operate between 8:30am and 5:00pm on week days, and to 9:00pm on Thursdays.
The approval was granted by Council on June 4 to Adapt Planning Pty Ltd on behalf of Cape Moreton Company Pty Ltd.
The development approval will last for six years.
Development work must begin within two years, starting from when the approval was granted.

Will there be provisions for a Coles in this area of shopping? We could use a Coles in Kingaroy.
Highly unlikely – expect it would be too small. Rumours online last year were that it was to be a Spotlight.
