Three people will face a total of 30 charges after police raided a property at Blacksnake on Sunday.

A police spokesperson said investigations and a tip-off had led to a search of a property on Blacksnake Road for drugs and firearms.

Two men and a woman at the property were arrested without incident.

Gympie detectives and the Child Protection Investigation Unit searched the property with the help of the Tactical Crime Squad and Kilkivan police.

Police allegedly found three rifles, ammunition, about 1.8kg of methamphetamine, about 510g of cannabis and $122,350 in cash.

The police spokesperson said the methamphetamine had a street value of between $900,000 and $1.44 million.

Police also located three vehicles: a Toyota LandCruiser allegedly stolen from Maroochy River on June 7; a Jayco caravan allegedly stolen from a Gympie business between June 6-7, and a Toyota LandCruiser allegedly stolen from Peregian Springs on May 19.

A 56-year-old Blacksnake man, Alan James Lace, has been charged with:

  • Four counts of possessing dangerous drugs
  • Two counts of unlawful possession of motor vehicles with intent to deprive
  • Three counts of possessing anything used in the commission of crime
  • Two counts of unlawful possession of weapons category A, B or M
  • Possessing Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 drugs
  • Drug Trafficking
  • Receiving or possessing property obtained from trafficking or supplying
  • Producing dangerous drugs
  • Possessing shortened firearms
  • Authority required to possess explosives (ammunition),
  • Possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under Drugs Misuse Act
  • Failing to properly dispose of needle and syringe
  • Possessing tainted property
  • Possessing Schedule 4 or Schedule 8 medicines or hazardous poisons, and
  • Break-and-enter and commit an indictable offence

Lace did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody when the charges were mentioned in Gympie Magistrates Court earlier this week.

He is scheduled to reappear in Gympie Court on August 19.

A 45-year-old Nambour man has been charged with possessing dangerous drugs and buying or possessing Schedule 4 or Schedule 8 medicines or hazardous poisons.

A 61-year-old Yandina woman has been charged with possessing dangerous drugs, fail to take reasonable care and precautions in respect of syringe or needle, failing to properly dispose of needle and syringe, possessing property suspected of having been acquired for the purpose of committing a drug offence, and buying or possessing Schedule 4 or Schedule 8 medicines or hazardous poisons.

They were provided with drug diversion.
