A motorbike rider was airlifted to hospital in a serious condition after a crash on Pierces Creek Road, between Blackbutt and Crows Nest, on Sunday.

Emergency services were called about 11:40am, with the Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter despatched about 12:30pm.

The chopper landed in a paddock, a short distance from the incident.

A LifeFlight spokesperson said it was believed the middle-aged man was riding his motorcycle around a bend when he lost control and veered off the road, crashing into a bush.

LifeFlight’s critical care doctor and QAS flight paramedic assisted local QAS paramedics in treating the patient for multiple injuries.

He was airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
