Three fire crews were despatched to Wilkesdale on Monday evening after reports of a house on fire.
On arrival, they found a fire had been burning in the roof of the building but the occupants had managed to extinguish it by themselves.
A QFES spokesperson said no one was injured.
Firefighters spent about an hour at the property to conduct further checks in the roof to confirm the fire was out.
The incident occurred just after 8:30pm on Vanderlugt Road.
