Blackbutt Benarkin Lions Club celebrated its 20th anniversary at a special dinner at Blackbutt Golf Club on Saturday night.
The club was chartered in 2004 and several of the original Charter Members, including then-president Ivan Panzram, were present at the celebration.
They were presented with certificates to mark the occasion by District Governor Jackie Scott.
Former club president Linda Little told southburnett.com.au about 60 people attended the dinner.
Another highlight of the night was the presentation of the Australian Lions Foundation’s J.D. Richardson Honour Award to well-known Blackbutt residents Jeff and Dr Daphene Connor and long-standing club members John and Judy Campbell.
The award recognises outstanding community service.
Jeff and Daphene, from the Blackbutt Medical Centre, have been heavily involved in town projects and events for many years, including the annual Avocado Festival and the Blackbutt and Benarkin Aged Care Association.
John and Judy have given hours of volunteer service to the club over many years.
The evening was also an opportunity to mark the changeover of 2023-24 club president John Atkins to 2024-25 president Colleen Callaghan.
