A small presentation was made at Kingaroy Library on Tuesday to one of the region’s long-serving Justices of the Peace who will be leaving the area soon.

Linda Thomas became a JP in 2009 but has been part of the daily roster of JPs based at the Kingaroy Library since November 2022. Before that, she was part of the team that manned a desk in Kingaroy Shoppingworld.

Linda said the library staff had welcomed her warmly when she began her regular Tuesday shifts.

“It’s been more than just a job,” she said. “These people have become friends.”

Linda was part of small JP team which also includes Barry Krosch, Marie Shaw and Lyn Caslick.

Lyn, who has been the back-up on the roster, will now slot in to the Tuesday shift full-time.

Tuesday was Linda’s last day at the library before she moves from Kumbia to Cambooya.

Library staff members and South Burnett Regional Council CEO Mark Pitt joined Barry and Lyn in thanking Linda for her service.
