A record number of businesses are using Toowoomba Regional Council’s online real estate portal to look up rates and charges information.
The portal allows real estate agents and solicitors to look up information on any property across the region using the Lot on Plan information for that particular property.
TRC General Manager Ann-Marie Johnson said almost 1000 hits to the portal were being recorded each month.
“Council first launched this portal in March 2021 and we have consistently seen increases to its use to the point where in November last year there were 977 hits on the portal,” she said.
“This is freeing up Council’s customer service resourcing and allows real estate agents and solicitors to access this property information without the need for making contact with Council, which is a great win-win.
“The portal allows users to search using lot on plan details with information provided such as property location, property description (lot on plan), half-yearly rates and charges including water charges, outstanding balance, current water meter readings, land area and land valuation.
“Council also offers a service whereby our rates team would be happy to assist real estate agents and solicitors with some basic training in how to use the system.
