Applications are now open for the State Government’s Reef Place-Based Integrated Projects (2023–2026) grants scheme, and projects from within the South Burnett are eligible.
The aim is to improve water quality on the Great Barrier Reef.
Applications are sought from a number of sub-catchment areas, including the Burnett Mary Region.
Projects must:
- Support reef water quality improvement
- Leverage and integrate investment, in-kind contribution, existing resources, or initiatives
- Add value across a catchment and engage communities and land managers through a range of cross-sector settings (eg, natural capital, agricultural land and catchment management, landscape remediation, agricultural whole-of-supply chain, circular economy)
- Deliver additional co-benefits (eg. regional capacity building, extension, human dimensions, catchment management landscape repair, and environmental markets)
- Provide enduring legacy outcomes.
Applications close at noon on April 30.
