Kingaroy has a new Chief Baconeer!

Evalyn Thompson, probably best known as the business development officer at Kingaroy TAFE, was elected to the top job at the annual general meeting of the Kingaroy BaconFest organising committee on Thursday night.

Also elected were secretary Kylie Van Schyndel, treasurer Megan Blasius and vice-president and site manager Mark Magisana.

Other Baconeer co-ordinators are: Tony Cisneros (entertainment), Vicki Rossi (merchandise), Michelle Kaus (tourism), Amber Goldsmith (volunteers), Melanie Crittenden (Little Piggies) and Quinn Vaughan (social media).

The group is still looking for volunteer co-ordinators to fill the following roles:  Ticketed Events, Publicity, Stallholders, Town Hall, Sponsorship and Arts.

The AGM of the volunteer group was held at the South Burnett Enterprise Centre.

Planning has already begun for the 2024 event which will kick off with the now-traditional Wine and Swine evening cocktail party on Friday, August 16.

The two main days of the festival will be held in the Kingaroy CBD on August 17-18.
