A lightning strike on a power pole led to Cherbourg residents losing power for about 30 minutes on Wednesday evening.
Firefighters were called to the incident, in Marshall Street, when the top of the pole burst into flames.
QAS paramedics also attended, but no one was injured.
Ergon Energy briefly disconnected power to the community to ensure residents’ safety.
The lightning strike was part of a storm which swept through the northern part of the South Burnett region between between 6:00pm-7:30pm.
At 6:30pm, BOM had recorded 41.5mm of rain in Cherbourg in just 30 minutes.
