Queensland Fire and Emergency Services issued a smoke alert for Kingaroy and surrounding areas on Monday afternoon in relation to a large bushfire in the Gordonbrook area.
Firefighters were called to the blaze, near Smiths Road and Borcherts Road, about 3:30pm.
A QFES spokesperson said that at 5:00pm, 12 fire crews were in action however they were now basically mopping up as the spread had been contained.
At one point, flames jumped a river but crews had managed to contain this breakout.
There were no reports of any structures being under threat.
