FLASHBACK: Rowena Dionysius was the South Burnett Regional Council’s 2023 Citizen Of The Year

Nominations are now open for the South Burnett’s annual Australia Day Awards.

The 2024 awards will be presented on Sunday, January 21 at Kumbia Hall.

“The South Burnett Australia Day Awards provide the community with an opportunity to recognise outstanding groups and individuals’ commitment and tenacity in creating a better quality of life for our region,” Acting Mayor Gavin Jones said.

“These awards allow equal opportunity across the entire South Burnett to nominate those who have made special contributions to their local community.”

Award categories are:

• South Burnett Citizen of the Year

• South Burnett Young Citizen of the Year

• South Burnett Junior Cultural Award

• South Burnett Senior Cultural Award

• South Burnett Junior Sportsperson

• South Burnett Senior Sportsperson

• South Burnett Sports Administrator/Coach/Official Award

• South Burnett Community Organisation of the Year

• South Burnett Volunteer of the Year

• South Burnett Lifetime Achievement Award

• Local Achiever Awards (Town & Rural)

The award nominations will be judged by a panel of people drawn from throughout the South Burnett.
