Police have charged a 12-year-old boy after an armed robbery occurred at Nanango on Saturday morning.
It will be alleged around 5:20am, three people drove into the United Petroleum service station in Henry Street in a vehicle reportedly stolen from Hawthorne in Brisbane on August 31.
A police spokesperson said one of the trio allegedly presented a hammer and threatened an employee inside the premises.
The group then left with money and property and fled in the vehicle.
The stolen vehicle was located later on Saturday and a 12-year-old Wulkuraka boy was taken into custody at Woolloongabba.
He has been charged with armed robbery and unlawful use of a motor vehicle (publish on social media).
He was refused police bail and is due to appear in Beenleigh Children’s Court on Monday.
Investigations into the incidents are continuing.
Yet another example of youth crime out of control.
Not only is youth crime out of control, but we have a Govt that way, too, and they also don’t have a clue or for that matter a care. Not at all!
I heard a news article this morning that stated Qld break and enters this year already at a number of 30,000! When can we expect some change?
Youth crime out of control and our Premier out of office soon.
Would the first instance responsible to curb the youth crime numbers not be the parents? If they don’t teach their kids what is right or wrong, how can Government do it? And this education starts when the kids are babies – don’t snatch your playmates’ toys etc. In a nutshell : don’t do to others what you would not like to be done to yourself – a saying as old as humanity – but still true.
