Most descriptions remained reasonably firm when 650 head were yarded for the combined agents sale in Murgon on August 15.
Better quality feeder cattle were slightly dearer.
Cattle were drawn from Gayndah, Mundubbera, Kingaroy, Yarraman, Nanango, Kingaroy, Kilkivan, Hivesville, Goomeri, Woolooga and the Murgon district.
Sale results:
- Heavy Bulls sold to $2.60/kg and $2480
- Cows over 500kg sold to $2.25/kg and $1560, averaging $2.02/kg
- Cows 400-500kg topped at $2.10/kg for $1170
- Cows under 400kg sold to $1.70/kg
- Export heifers sold to $2.63/kg for $1350
- 417kg Droughtmaster steers from Wooroonden sold for $3.40/kg to return $1420
- A line of Santa steers from Cobbs Hill sold to a top of $3.38c/kg
- Angus steers from Hivesville also sold to $3.38/kg for $1380
- 395kg Charolais cross steers from Proston sold for $3.43/kg, returning $1350
- Charbray steers ex-Tansey sold for $1150 at $3.38/kg
