Eleven fire crews were called on Thursday afternoon to a vegetation fire burning in the Charlestown area near Wondai.
A QFES spokesperson said that at 4:00pm, firefighters were working on a containment line on the south-western edge of the fire.
A bulldozer and a grader had been brought in to cut a firebreak around the fire.
At the same time as the Charlestown blaze, four fire crews were in action at a fire near Durong.
QFES issued a “Stay Informed” bushfire alert to local residents about this incident at 4:04pm.
The fire was burning between Chinchilla-Wondai Road and Broad Creek Road but no properties were in danger when the alert was issued.
UPDATE 5:57pm: QFES issued AVOID SMOKE advice for this fire for Cherbourg, Murgon, Moffatdale, Wondai and surrounding areas.
