Operation Wanted – RSPCA Qld’s annual pet desexing campaign backed locally by the South Burnett Regional Council – is on again!
Participating vets in the South Burnett are offering a 20 per cent discount on desexing until August 31.
As well as removing the risk of unwanted litters, desexing can:
- Reduce the desire of pets to roam
- Reduce aggressive behaviours (dogs)
- Reduce other unwanted behaviours such as urine spraying (cats)
- Reduce the risk of some cancers
- Cheaper Council registration fees (dogs)
- Allow pets to be happier and more relaxed
Register online to receive a unique code to use at participating vets.

The RSPCA website lists the following participating vets:
- Barambah Veterinary Surgery, 217 Haly Street, Kingaroy
- Kingaroy Veterinary Surgery, 30 Avoca Street, Kingaroy
- Nanango Country Veterinary Services, 7 Fitzroy Street, Nanango
- Wooroolin Veterinary Services, 39 Alexander Street, Wooroolin
For only a 20% discount, I’ll keep my dog intact thanks. Not worth the petrol to go to town.
It’s not like the council cares anyway – wandering, aggressive and nuisance dogs that they do nothing about, even after I was attacked.
It will take someone being killed before they seriously take action
However, if you do desex your dog, the annual registration fee is a lot less, your dog is less likely to spawn unwanted pups, and is less likely to roam.
