South Burnett Thrashers’ Old Boys Day hosted a feast of rugby union action last Saturday at Kingaroy’s T.J. O’Neill Oval.
First up, the Thrashers Old Boys took on a the CQ Uni “Wobblies” in a friendly game featuring old-school rivalry (and some jumper swapping).
The game was played by Old Boys rules, which meant no lineouts or conversion attempts.
By our count, the score was six tries all at full-time, but it could have been more …
The Old Boys game was followed by a serious Round 11 B Grade game (see below) and an A Grade game from the Darling Downs competitions.
“It was a great day for the club to have three games of rugby being played,” club president Jamie Shirlaw said.
“The Thrashers old boys who came back to either just watch or strap boots back on had a great day.
“The CQU old boys stayed around for the Old Boys Dinner at the Kingaroy Hotel on Saturday night.”
