The 15 per cent discount to irrigators on the Sunwater and Seqwater schemes has been extended until 2024-25 .
A total of $22.8 million was allocated in the recent State Budget to extend the discount for another 12 months.
Also included in the Budget was funding for the 35 per cent horticulture rebate.
As at March 31, 2023, $1.35 million had been paid to eligible horticulture producers in the Wide Bay Burnett through the Horticulture Irrigation Pricing Rebate Scheme, which is administered by QRIDA.
Horticulture growers will have until the end of 2024 to apply for the horticulture rebate for water used up to June 30, 2024.
The 35 per cent horticulture rebate is on top of the 15 per cent irrigation price discount.
