Nanango RSL Sub-Branch has received a Federal Government grant as part of the $2 million “Saluting Their Service” commemorative program.
The Sub-Branch has been allocated $10,000 to restore the plaques on the Nanango War Memorial.
More than 150 projects across Australia received grants in the latest round of the grants program.
“The Saluting Their Service program provides funding not only for war memorials, but for a range of projects that highlight the important role our servicemen and women have played in over a century of service,” Veteran Affairs Minister Matt Keogh said.
“The Department of Veterans’ Affairs received a large number of applications. It is fantastic to see the enthusiasm to support and pay tribute to our veteran community from all over the country.”
