Three South Burnett finalists have been named in the 2023 Change Maker Awards linked with the Containers for Change scheme.
More than 700 entries were received this year, which have been whittled down to 36 finalists across eight categories.
The three South Burnett finalists are:
- Charity/Community Group of the Year – Tanduringie State School P&C
- Medium Operator of the Year – Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council, Kingaroy
- Refund Point Employee of the Year – Rhys Cobbo, Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council, Kingaroy
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at the Brisbane Conference and Exhibition Centre on Thursday, July 6.
In 2020, Cherbourg Council’s Containers For Change picked up two Change Maker awards.
The Council was presented with the Sustainability Award in the Small to Medium Business category and Kingaroy manager Christine Beresford won the major award on the night, the inaugural Change Maker Of The Year award.
