South Burnett Regional Council representatives will be attending this Saturday’s Ros Gregor parkrun in Nanango to seek input into the future of vegetation beside the trail.

The parkrun is held every Saturday morning along the Ros Gregor Nature Walk beside Tipperary Flat on the D’Aguilar Highway.

A Council spokesperson said a large area of vegetation had been planted in the past along the western side of the track as part of a biodiversity project funded by a government grant which aimed to reconnect native ecosystems and wildlife corridors.

However, since then Council has received requests to remove vegetation and maintain the area as mowed parkland.

“Council wishes to understand the community’s views to assist in determining how to manage and maintain this natural area in the future,” the spokesperson said.

“Council is encouraging feedback from the Nanango community.

“Residents can speak with staff and representatives face-to-face on Saturday or by completing a short online survey

The Ros Gregor parkrun starts at 7:00am.
