Firefighters called for extra resources on Monday afternoon to help fight a large fire burning east of the Tarong Power Station.
At 1:26pm, QFES issued a “Stay Informed” alert, with the warning area listed as between Nanango-Tarong Road and the D’Aguilar Highway at South Nanango.
At 1:45pm, a spokesperson said no properties were currently under threat however the fire was burning across an area of about 60 acres, including in inaccessible country.
Seven fire crews were on site, with more requested.
A grader had been brought in from the South Burnett Regional Council and aerial fire-fighting support had been authorised.
The QFES spokesperson said crews were called to the incident, near Reeve Road, at 12:40pm.
The fire was burning in a north-easterly direction towards McGillivray Road and was being driven by northerly winds.
