The hard-working volunteers from the Wondai Garden Expo committee could relax on Monday after a massive weekend.

The annual Wondai Autumn Garden Expo was huge, both in the number of stalls and in the number of visitors at Wondai Sportsground.

One volunteer told southburnett.com.au that about 600 people had come through the main gate by just 10:00am on Saturday, and that figure did not include the buses!

Stalls stretched from in front of the grandstand to almost right around the oval.

The guest speaker on Saturday was Brisbane-based horticulturalist Claire Bickle who kept the crowd enthralled in the undercover stage area with several talks touching on everything from organic gardening to the importance of compost.

The Wondai Garden Expo committee organises two events every year.

Their next venture will be the Wondai Spring Garden Expo on September 23-24.

Keeping busy at the front gate were Lisa Towells, Murgon; and Kay Gustafson, Wondai
