South Burnett Gem and Fossicking Club’s fourth annual gem show sparkled on the weekend at Wondai Sportsground.
This is the second year that the club has held its annual two-day show at Wondai, and this time there were even more attractions than before.
Club president Lionel Woodrow told southburnett.com.au about 40 stallholders had booked in.
There were precious and semi-precious gem stones available to buy as well as petrified wood, minerals, crystals, jewellery and fossils.
Club members also manned a stand where children could “fossick” for gems and watch agate thunder eggs being cut open.
Stalls were erected around the edge of the oval and inside the Lions Pavilion, where hot food was also being dished out by Lions’ volunteers.
There were also lucky door prizes to be won plus lucky dips and raffles.
Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington, who spoke at the official opening on Saturday, praised the club for the amount of visitors they were bringing to the South Burnett every year.
