Wondai Swimming Pool was the place to be on Saturday morning … not only was it the perfect spot to cool off in the heat, it was also the official opening of the South Burnett Regional Council’s new $300,000 Splash Play Area.

The paddle pool is designed to allow small children to splash about and have fun among rocks and mini fountains.

There were plenty of children – and quite a few councillors – exploring the new play area on Saturday.

Another special guest was the Easter Bunny who organised an Easter Egg hunt for the children.

This Splash Play Area project was supported by a grant from the Federal Government.

Isaac Copas, 3, from Kingaroy, was enjoying trying out the new splash pool on Saturday morning
It was a big morning for these two … South Burnett Regional Council property management officer Natalee Taylor and Wondai Pool manager Natalie Mann
