Cherbourg will be hosting a State Government Regional Community Forum on Monday.

It is one of seven regional forums being held across Queensland.

Minister for Regional Development Glenn Butcher said the forums were an opportunity for community members who have specific expertise and knowledge to participate in discussions to create positive outcomes for their regions.

The forums will be held in:

  • Gordonvale (Far North Queensland)
  • Ingham (North, North West Region)
  • Mackay (Mackay Isaac Whitsunday region)
  • Blackall (Western Queensland region)
  • Emerald (Central Queensland region)
  • Cherbourg (Wide Bay Burnett Fraser Coast region)
  • St George (Darling Downs South West region)

Each forum is made up of 20 appointed community members plus State MPs.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the forums enabled the government to listen to communities and understand the priorities of Queenslanders.

Co-chairs of the Wide Bay/Burnett/Fraser Coast Regional Forum are Member for Maryborough Bruce Saunders,  Member for Hervey Bay Adrian Tantari and Member for Bundaberg Tom Smith.

The appointed Regional Community Forum members are: Abbie Grant-Taylor (Woondum), Amy Wicks (Moffatdale), Andrew Gifford (Bundaberg), Angie Condon-Smith (Gympie), Kylie Jackson (Bundaberg), Glen Miller (Maryborough), Kevin Edwards (Degilbo), Andrew Bryant (Hervey Bay), Megan Savill (Hervey Bay), Lance Stone (Maryborough), Tanya O’Shea (Bundaberg), Luke Sinclair (Bundaberg), Alicia Wade (Maryborough), Melinda Jones (Mungungo), Misty Neilson (Monto), Olivia Everitt (Imbil), Scott Rowe (Hervey Bay), Sean Nicholson (Wondai) and Tanya Stevenson (Hervey Bay).
