Two people were airlifted to hospital in a serious condition after a collision between a truck and a ute on the D’Aguilar Highway south of Yarraman on Thursday afternoon.
A third person, believed to be the male driver of the truck, was taken by ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital in a stable condition with minor injuries
Emergency services were called to the incident at 2:43pm.
When they arrived, they found a ute lying on its side down a steep embankment,
QFES crews used cutting equipment to free one occupant from the wrecked vehicle.
A QFES spokesperson said the occupant was freed and handed into the care of QAS paramedics about 3:45pm.
A woman aged in her 40s was airlifted from the scene to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious condition with chest injuries.
A man, also aged in his 40s, was airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane in a serious condition with suspected back and abdominal injuries.
Traffic on the highway was delayed while emergency services attended the scene, with police directing traffic.
The site was eventually fully cleared by 9:00pm.
The QPS Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the cause of the collision.
