South Burnett Regional Council will allocate $16,126 to six projects that applied for funding in the August round of the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF).
Five locally based mental health initiatives will also share in a further $12,350 in grant funding.
Cr Danita Potter announced the successful projects at the most recent Liveability Standing Committee meeting, where she listed the Round 1 winners of this year’s Community Grants Program.
She said the extra projects were not listed in the meeting’s Agenda papers but would appear in the meeting’s Minutes.
The successful RADF projects are:
- Queensland Ballet – Rural development tour ($2000)
- South Burnett Community Orchestra – Sue-Ellen Paulsen in concert ($3000)
- Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery – Creativity Unlimited ($3000)
- Arthur Conlon – Indigenous mural and workshops ($3000)
- Kingaroy State High School P&C – Celebration of Connections To Country ($3000)
- Olivia Everitt – Grant writing workshops for arts projects ($2126)
The successful mental health projects are being run by:
- Wondai Amateur Swimming Club – $3000
- Kingaroy Chamber of Commerce and Industry – $3000
- Wellbeing Market Day – $3000
- Bunya Mountains Community Association – $2000
- South Burnett CTC – $1350
RADF is a partnership between Arts Queensland and Queensland councils, with Arts Queensland contributing 60 per cent of grant funding and councils the remaining 40 per cent for arts-related projects that meet guidelines determined by each council.
The mental health grants are being funded by the Queensland Mental Health Week Community Events Grant Program.
The next round of the council’s Community Grants Program will open in February 2023 and close at the end of that month.
Round 2 winners are expected to be announced in April 2023.
