The Bureau of Meteorology issued a minor flood warning for parts of the Stanley, Mary, Burnett and upper Brisbane rivers on Friday as overnight rainfall totals of between 80-120 mm were recorded in the catchment areas.
Showers were expected to continue through Friday with further rises likely, although not expected to exceed minor flood levels.
The overnight rainfall was associated with an East Coast Low that is developing off the coast of Queensland, leading to increased winds and rain along the southern Queensland coast.
A BOM spokesperson said the Bureau would continue to monitor the situation and update its forecasts and warnings regularly.
Communities have been encouraged to keep up-to-date with the latest forecasts and warnings through the Bureau’s website and BOM Weather app and follow the advice of emergency services.
