Police have charged a 52-year-old man following investigations into two alleged sexual assaults in Kingaroy this year.

It will be alleged that on February 15 and June 11 the man sexually assaulted women who were passengers paying to be transported in the vehicle he was driving.

A 52-year-old Kingaroy man was charged on Wednesday with two counts of sexual assault.

He is due to appear in the Kingaroy Magistrates Court on August 8.

Further complaints have since been received and detectives are appealing for anyone with information, or interactions of a similar nature, to contact them.

About 10:00am on July 4, a woman spotted a man allegedly attempting to open the driver’s side door of her vehicle at the intersection of Mackenzie and Bramston streets, Wondai.

Police will allege the man threatened the victim, but left the scene in another vehicle without any of the woman’s property.

A 22-year-old Wondai man has been charged with attempted robbery, enter premises and commit indictable offence and two counts of stealing. He is due to re-appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on September 13.

About 6:30pm on July 9, a woman was approached by two men as she walked towards a grocery store in Mackenzie Street, Wondai.

It is alleged one of the men grabbed the woman’s handbag. Both men then ran off.

A 21-year-old Victoria Point man was charged with unlawful use of motor vehicle, stealing, burglary and commit indictable offence, enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence, five counts of fraud and trespass.

He is due to appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on August 2.

Investigations are continuing.
