The final Queensland Senate spots were confirmed by the Australian Electoral Commission on Friday afternoon.
In a battle that went down to the wire, One Nation founder Pauline Hanson secured the fifth of the six spots available with the ALP’s Anthony Chisholm taking the sixth.
The LNP’s Amanda Stoker, who was in the preference battle until the end, just missed out on being re-elected.
The positions were decided by a complicated distribution of preferences.
The 120 pages of results that detail the process are available on the Australian Electoral Commission website (453kb PDF)
There were six Queensland Senate seats up for grabs in the half-Senate election which was held simultaneously with the House of Representatives poll on May 21.
The candidates elected (in order) were:
- James McGrath (LNP)
- Murray Watt (ALP)
- Matt Canavan (LNP)
- Penny Allman-Payne (The Greens)
- Pauline Hanson (PHON)
- Anthony Chisholm (ALP)
The six Senators elected will each serve a six-year term.
High-profile candidates Clive Palmer, Campbell Newman and George Christensen were all excluded earlier during the preference distribution.
