Agents yarded 650 head for the fortnightly combined agents Fat and Store Sale at Murgon’s saleyards on Tuesday (May 31).

All values remained firm to dearer on the previous sale, but there were no bullocks to quote.

Cattle were drawn from Gayndah, Mundubbera, Mt Perry, Kingaroy, Yarraman, Nanango, Gympie, Kilkivan and the Murgon district.

Sale results:

  • Heavy bulls sold to $3.40/kg and $2771
  • Heavy cows over 500kg sold to $3.89/kg and $2295
  • Cows 400-500kg sold to $3.81/kg
  • Cows under 400kg topped at $300 cents per kilo
  • Export heifers sold to $4.19/kg and $2490
  • Heavy feeder steers sold to $5.58/kg and $2396
  • 283kg steers sold to $7.20/kg
  • Light weight weaner steers sold to $7.98/kg
  • 410kg feeder heifers sold up to $5.71/kg
  • 330kg heifers sold to $5.88/kg, returning $1988
  • 200kg weaner heifers sold to $6.42/kg
  • Charolais cross steers from Cloyna sold to $5.58/kg, returning $2400.00
  • 492kg Gelbvieh cross steers from Manyung sold for $2450 at $4.99/kg
  • 363kg Charbray steers sold for $2088 at $5.74/kg
  • 340kg Braford steers 340 kg from Mt Perry sold for $1972 at $5.80/kg
  • Local Santa steers weighing 400kg sold for $2274 and $5.69/kg
  • Brangus weaner steers from Tansey sold for $2038 and $7.20/kg
  • Charbray weaner steers from Gympie sold for $7.00/kg, returning $1978
  • Braford weaner steers from Mt Perry sold to $2060 at $6.98/kg
  • Three pens of Angus and Angus cross weaner steers from Nanango sold for $7.98/kg, returning $1789, $1682 and $1606 respectively
  • 425kg Hereford cross heifers from Goomeri sold for $2040.00 at $4.80/kg
  • 457kg Gelbvieh heifers sold for $4.46/kg to return $2040
  • Two pens of Angus heifers from Moffatdale sold for $5.88/kg, returning $1988 and $1709
  • Charbray heifers from Nanango sold for $2010 at $5.48/kg
  • Charbray weaner heifers sold for $5.76/kg and $1640
  • Angus weaner heifers from Nanango sold for $6.42/kg and $1370
  • Charbray weaner heifers from Cinnabar sold for $6.10/kg, returning $1150
  • Charbray cross cows and calves sold to $2850
  • PTIC Charbray and Brahman Cows sold for $2600, $2500 and $2100

Upcoming Sales

  • The Combined Agents Weaner Feature will be held on Friday, June 10 and all cattle marketed with Aussie Land & Livestock will go into a draw to win a Kubota RTV520 (each head receives an entry ticket for the draw).
  • The next Fat And Store Sale will be held at Murgon Saleyards on Tuesday, June 14 starting at 8:00am.
