Cherbourg’s Selwyn Cobbo has been selected in the Maroons’ side for Game 1 of the 2022 State of Origin series.
The 19-year-old – a former Murgon State High School captain – is one of four debutants named on Monday by coach Billy Slater.
Cobbo has been selected after making an explosive start in the NRL.
The Broncos winger has proven to be a prolific try scorer despite just 19 NRL games.
He made his debut for the Broncos in Round 13 in 2021 against the Dragons and scored his first NRL try just a week later.
Origin Game 1 will be played at Accor Stadium in Sydney on June 8.
